Program Teachers

The purpose of the ESSER Expanded Learning/21st Century Community Learning Centers grants is to provide services and activities that help students improve in academics, attendance, and behavior, and to mitigate learning loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Primary Responsibility 

 

ESSER Expanded Learning Program teachers are directly responsible for providing primary instruction, enrichment, and Tier II/Tier III interventions in reading and/or math to students who participate in the program. Teachers will also provide enrichment in STEM, fine arts, and physical activities. Teachers will work approximately 10 hours per week for 39 weeks to accomplish the responsibilities of the position.

 

General Responsibilities

  • Work within established guidelines to improve student academics, attendance, and behaviors.  
  • With the Federal Programs Director and REDS Program Director, plan, develop, and implement lessons and activities to ensure they meet state objectives and the needs and interests of students. 
  • Provide direct instruction, enrichment, and targeted Tier II/Tier III interventions as needed based on student data and mastery of content standards.
  • Follow established policies and procedures that fulfill all federal and state requirements for the ESSER Expanded Learning programs. 
  • Collect and report student data and information as required by the Program Director. 
  • Submit purchasing requests as needed to the Program Director. 
  • Provide direct supervision of students. 
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with parents, community leaders and organizations, and school-based staff, and promote ESSER Expanded Learning programs, services, and activities within the community. 
  • Maintain daily contact with program and administrative staff. 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education with Oklahoma teacher certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively to multiple audiences 
  • Ability to perform all tasks identified in this job description
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Good physical condition with ability to lift 10 pounds
